
Dr. Kathryn Hamel

Founder and owner, Kathryn Hamel, Ph.D. specializes in organizational consulting, with a focus on Human Resources and personnel matters.
Dr. Hamel spent 27 years in law enforcment, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant from a mid-sized police agency in Orange County, before transitioning to a career in academia. After retiring from law enforcement, she took on the role of Dean of Criminolgy at California Southern University, a regionally accredited private university in Costa Mesa, California.
After serving in that role for nearly a year, she was promoted to Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development, a position she held until transitioning to the CEO of the Hecht Trauma Institute, a non-profit start-up dedicated to assisting those impacted by emotional trauma.
Dr. Hamel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Occupational Studies from California State University, Long Beach, a Master's from Chapman University in Criminal Justice and a Doctoral Degree in Public Safety Leadership from Capella University. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Kindervision, a non-profit dedicated to raising awareness of child sexual abuse.
